MY NATURAL HAIR LENGTH CHECK

It's been over three years since I cut my 5 year old locs. This go around I've learned a lot, and experimented tons with different products in my hair. I find that the products are half as important as protecting your hair from breakage. I admit that protective styling is the truth. Since rocking lace front, and full lace wigs I've been co washing regularly, deep conditioning consistently, and manipulating my hair on rare occasions.

I'm preparing for a nice blow out and looking forward to it .  I love my natural hair, but I also love the convenience that wigs allow me.

No Heat and manually stretched! I wonder  what a flat iron would do ?

My hair was taken down from the plaits that I wear under my wigs. No separating.

At Bra Strap Length . I'm 5'8". This is after several "cuts and trims"  throughout the years

PRODUCT REVIEW: I LOVE MY FRO'S ORANGE VANILLA SHEA BUTTER WHIP

I had the pleasure to try out and review I Love My Fro's  Orange Vanilla Shea Butter Whip. Being an admirer of Harmony, her hair and her videos on youtube I was more than happy to review one of her products. When it arrived over the holidays the product was shipped and packaged nicely, with the sweetest touch of leopard print tissue paper, and a few business cards thrown in .  After opening the jar I noticed it experiencing ingredient separation,  but it mixed well after a quick stir. I'm sure with some tweaks to the formulation, the issue of separation can be completely eliminated.   Maybe it's the Virgo in me, but I want perfection, and I can be very critical. These same gripes and complaints can either make businesses stronger, improving where needed, or they can be ignored, leaving small businesses to flounder while they compete for the consumer dollar.

PRODUCT REVIEW (5 star system)

Cost:  Moderate ***
Smell: Smells like yummy Vanilla and Orange  *****
Texture:  Light and creamy and absorbed easily into hair and skin *****

Overall it's a good shea butter product. It not only contains great oils, but the water content makes it extremely moisturizing. With multiple uses you can make this product stretch, and get the most bang for your buck .

Product separation is shown in this photo.  Creator should consider reformulation to prevent this.

After applying to dry skin, imparts a nice sheen and locks in moisture with oils and shea butter.

NON- STRIPPING SHAMPOOS FOR NATURAL HAIR

Sulphate- free, all natural , clarifying I've tried them all. Shampoos!  I've found two that are near and dear to my heart. I can't stand when a shampoo claims to leave your hair "soft", "moisturized" and "manageable" and all you get is squeaky clean straw-like hair strands. I've added two shampoos to my holy grail list. I shampoo weekly, because I use products that cause build up so I like to have my hair clean from product but still soft, moisturized and easy to style.
