It's been over three years since I cut my 5 year old locs. This go around I've learned a lot, and experimented tons with different products in my hair. I find that the products are half as important as protecting your hair from breakage. I admit that protective styling is the truth. Since rocking lace front, and full lace wigs I've been co washing regularly, deep conditioning consistently, and manipulating my hair on rare occasions.
I'm preparing for a nice blow out and looking forward to it . I love my natural hair, but I also love the convenience that wigs allow me.

No Heat and manually stretched! I wonder what a flat iron would do ? |

My hair was taken down from the plaits that I wear under my wigs. No separating. |

At Bra Strap Length . I'm 5'8". This is after several "cuts and trims" throughout the years |

ReplyDeleteOMG...I was walking to my job building thinking about my hair just this morning!!!!!! I was wondering if anyone else's hair does what mines does. I have been natural for 3 years (over 2 years post second BC) and it looks short in its natural state. But, when I stretch it out (pull or flat iron) its unbelievably longer! Your hair looks like mines. I admire your attitude towards not stressing on how long your hair grows. GOD BLESS your journey :).
ReplyDeleteAny color is AE's color. The hair is the bomb!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!! Love that green on you!! Your hair is Gorgeous!!!!

Your hair is gorgeous and you are even more gorgeous than your hair.
ReplyDeleteThe length is very very encouraging and inspirational. Im approaching my two year anniversary since my big chop (3/26/10) and I am so excited about my growth.
Im the opposite of you though, I hardly rock protective styles and I am always manipulating my hair. I love twist outs especially flat twist outs. I think part of me wanting to show off my hair so much comes from the years of me hiding it under wigs. Hmmmm this sounds like the beginning of a great post for me to share with my readers...

I have hope to stop cutting my hair.
ReplyDeleteJust absolutely gorgeous!!! My favourite pic is the one with your hand above your head. Your arm is extended as far as it can go, and one healthy curl is still doing its thing beyond your fingertips... classic! :D Thanks for the inspiration.
