EXTREME COUPONING MAKES ME FEEL REMEDIAL!

If your like me and have seen at least one episode of Extreme Couponing on TLC your reaction is like mine, you'd say , "that's freaking amazing". I love a highly discounted items like the next person. However, when I watch the couponers I can't help but sit dumbfounded and confused. Am I the only person who is intimidated by couponing? If you are experienced and want to share your tips ,comment below. If I could couple my thrifting with couponing I will have my Lexus coupe in no time .

  1. I dont know if Im just unlucky, or its a UK thing or what, but the only 'coupons' I seem to find are for things I really dont want :(

  2. I am as dumbfounded as you are. I am trying every Sunday to collect enough coupons but every time I'm in the store it doesn't work to my advantage...No tips here except, certain stores double coupon.

  3. By all means I am not an extreme couponer, But, the cost for groceries for my family of 5 is now averaging at $45/week!!!!! Yes, and I work full-time and go to school...so it is possible. Here's how it works. Take publix, for example, they have a lot of sales that are 50% off or BOGO. Match that sale up with coupons. My best deal was spending $39 and some change on $102 work of groceries. Some people, like me, don't have time to sit and do a match up. Check out thekrazycouponlady.com. She will supply you with a list of deals going on at each store. Beside the deal, she will list the available coupons and tell you where to find them. So, all you have to do is print your list, clip your coup, and go shopping. This saves me a lot of time and money. Now, getting started is going to be slow. I've been couponing for 2 months and just recently was able to decreas my bill. The key is to buy in cycles. Example, stock up on cereals, soups, popcorn and veggies this week. Next week, stock up on meats. There aren't major coupons for meats, but if that is all you need to buy for the week, its not that bad. Hope this helps!!!

  7. I agree with Nhappy Jackie with buying in cycles. I'm not an extreme couponer either but I'm learning to save on the things I need. CVS has become one of my favorite places to shop for household items that we need. For example, last week I was able to get my husband 4 bottles of Gillette body wash, 2 bottles of Old Spice body wash, a 32-48 load (I think) bottle of Tide and 3 bottles of Dawn dish detergent for $12 by purchasing items that were on sale then using coupons and my Extra Care Bucks. $12 is what 3 of his body wash usually cost by themselves. It's a slow learning process for me but some people refer to it as a game. I have a friend that has family so she finds it beneficial to stockpile and all that but I don't. I don't buy it if it's simply on sale and if I can get it cheaper at The Dollar Tree, I do.

  9. I have tried it and it really doesn't work for me. I never find coupons for the things i actually buy and use. I don't feed my kids a lot of processed foods, so canned items are not something that i go to daily. i buy a lot of fresh fruits and veggies, which I never find coupons for. when i see these people on the show saving that much money it is quite amazing but when they walk out the store with 200 candy bars, 50 tooth brushes and 20 cans of air freshener and only spent a dollar, that doesn't impress me at all unless you are donating it to a shelter or something, who needs that much stuff?? you didn't get one thing to eat but your teeth will never be dirty, lol. i ended up spending more money on the ink and paper it took to print all the coupons that i actually saved, so while its not popular opinion, i personally don't see the point for my household! i'm better off expanding my garden, which i am doing....all i need now is a chicken and we are good, LOL (JK)

  11. Watch *savingwithvetta* and *pinchingpennies2011* on YT. I learned so much from them I've gotten toothpaste, papertowels, and dish washing liquid for free or a few cents. The trick is using their tips to get things your family may need, you don't have to buy everything they do.

Also check out the blogs krazycouponlady.com and hip2save.com. I got FREE sunglasses from Sears checking the links those ladies post. Once you get the hang of it you'll be addicted :D

  14. Ok. Im usually a lurker but I figured I would come out so you can get this deal. CVS is doing their makeup clearance for the end of the year. Revlon products and some select Sally Hansen nail polishes are marked 75% off. Go toyour local store and check it out. Also CVS.com has a 20% off coupon that you can use before the 11th. I just picked up 7 revlon quad sets and 18 bottles of polish for 14 bucks. Sooo get on it.

  15. Since you do shop at Wally world, try price matching your adds then add coupons slowly. I know you can save that way because I did.

  16. I love couponing! It can be overwhelming if you dont have a plan. I go to www couponsense.com, which tells you what store is having what sale and matches available coupons to the items. Make sure you have something to help keeo the coupons in order, like a recipe card box, or my personal preference of a binder. And it takes time to get to those super discounted receipts but it's definitely worth it!
