The disapproval of single women with children will never change. Since biblical times, an unwed mother was shunned and often persecuted. Today Black women raising children alone is all too common while circumstances may vary. After watching Vlogger Taren Guy , I immediately was engaged. "Damaged" and "unwanted" were just a couple of the labels that she disagrees with. While raising a child alone, is neither glamourous and desired, it's not an indicator of a woman's worth or value. Granted women with children require more from prospective partners, but the standards themselves, are the same as women without children. Faithfulness, selflessness, generosity, compassion, stability, motivated, spiritual and family orientated, aren't just requirements exclusive to one kind of women
"Rather than judging the book and assuming it's contents by the cover, one should open it and read to have a greater understanding of the author and the story itself" ~Africanexport
While I don't expect an unanimous acceptance of teen mothers, unwed mother's, and single parenting, I do think the more women share complete, honest, and transparent accounts of their pasts and experiences as a women, mother and partners, will the naysayers have a clearer picture and synopsis of the book to then draw an opinion.
WHAT ARE YOUR HONEST OPINIONS OF SINGLE MOTHERS?

LIFESTYLE: MY ALL NATURAL TEA FOR COLD AND FLU
The weekend started off, with aches and pressure in my head. This year I wasn't able to escape this flu season. When sickness strikes, I prefer natural remedies and concoctions. An all natural tea that works for me combines fresh ginger root, lemon, cayenne pepper and honey. I boil a 3"-4" piece of ginger root for approximately 15-20 minutes. Straining may be necessary if you don't remove the tough outer part of the root. The juice of half of a lemon, and a dash of cayenne pepper for heat (to induce sweating that helps break a fever) and honey for sweetness. If you're not a fan of the heat, this spicy tea may not be for you, but it beats the over the counter hot beverage medicines in my opinion. If you decide to try it, please share your experience. Some may already be familiar with this tea, and its similar counterpart, the Hot Totti that adds brown alcohol/ cognac.

I'M CHANNELING MY INNER DIANA ROSS
This this is some big ass hair! Best Lace Wigs has a full lace wig that channels Diana Ross and all her fabulousness. I feel like putting on a dress and my heels with this big and exotic hair. I never really understood the fascination and appeal that silkier hair textures have on black women. To each their own! Show you right!

MAC'S DAPHNE GUINNESS BLUSH OMBRE "VINTAGE GRAPE"
Now this blush has been haunting my thoughts since I saw it a few years ago. I typically don't follow the MAC collections, however there are some golden nuggets in their ever changing collections and re-promotes. Vintage Grape is one of the two blush ombres that are available in the Daphne Guinness collection, and the prettiest IMO. It's leaves a soft, pinkish, plum wash of color on the cheeks. I like this color for days that I want my makeup to look soft and pretty . This won't look clownish on dark skin. This gets my totally stamp of approval for most ethnic skin tones.

MY NATURAL HAIR LENGTH CHECK
It's been over three years since I cut my 5 year old locs. This go around I've learned a lot, and experimented tons with different products in my hair. I find that the products are half as important as protecting your hair from breakage. I admit that protective styling is the truth. Since rocking lace front, and full lace wigs I've been co washing regularly, deep conditioning consistently, and manipulating my hair on rare occasions.
I'm preparing for a nice blow out and looking forward to it . I love my natural hair, but I also love the convenience that wigs allow me.

| My hair was taken down from the plaits that I wear under my wigs. No separating. |

MARTIN LUTHER KING JR AND ME
Martin Luther King Jr's. birthday, is when many recognize his selfless contribution to the Civil Rights Movement, yet today my fiance' is "slaving" at work! I can admit as an African American I look forward MLK day and being off from work, but don't use the day to be thankful and recognize his contribution. I recognize and reflect throughout the calendar year. I'd like to believe that I use my life and breathe to bring honor to him and those before me. Leaders of yesterday would have heavy hearts if they could see the state of their children's children. Where are our leaders of today? What would Martin say?

CROPPED TOP + PLUS SIZED= OUTFIT OF THE DAY
Having the not so perfect waistline makes shopping at the famous Forever 21 a pain . Everything is cropped, snipped and tucked. Leaving the woman with the muffin top to fend for herself . I rocked my A-line vintage long black skirt high waisted. I wore the skirt high waisted with a thick belt, camouflaging my not so flat mommy tummy. Yes mommy tummy, stretch marks and all. While very little skin was shown I think it was still tasteful. Some rules of fashion are meant to be broken.

NON- STRIPPING SHAMPOOS FOR NATURAL HAIR
Sulphate- free, all natural , clarifying I've tried them all. Shampoos! I've found two that are near and dear to my heart. I can't stand when a shampoo claims to leave your hair "soft", "moisturized" and "manageable" and all you get is squeaky clean straw-like hair strands. I've added two shampoos to my holy grail list. I shampoo weekly, because I use products that cause build up so I like to have my hair clean from product but still soft, moisturized and easy to style.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: $9.99 Strengthens hair and thickens strands for thicker, healthier hair.
INGREDIENTS: Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) oil (denotes certified organic ingredients), aloe vera leaf juice, Adansonia digitata (Baobab) extract, biotin, Sodium Lauroyl Lactylate (coconut oil), vegetable protein, Yucca Filamentosa extract, rosemary extract, bamboo extract, Lonicera Caprifolium (honeysuckle) flower and Lonicera Japonica (Japanese honeysuckle) flower extract.
REVIEW: Smells like honeysuckle, and leaves your hair soft, clean and moisturized. Great for curly and dry hair types.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION $2.99

WE ALL KNOW A "FANTASIA" THAT NEEDS A WENDY W. HEART TO HEART!
"She can do so much better." Almost every woman, says this about close friends, collegues and family. Fantasia's story is all to common. Wendy Williams didn't spare Fantasia the ugly outsider's view, and tell her what she wanted to hear. If you truly care, "keep it real" as I alway say. Do you think Wendy was tactful? Either way, Fantasia like most hard-headed, "like to learn the hard way" types, will do what she wants to do. All the talent in the world, plus the anointed voice gifted from God, cant save a self destructive, woman who doesn't know her worth.

HEADWRAPS . A PROTECTIVE STYLE OPTION FOR NATURAL HAIR
"She's a queen!" is the vibe you get when an African American woman wears her hair wrapped. Head wraps aren't reserved for the orthodox Rastafarian, or the women with an Afro-centric style. Protecting hair from the, wind, rain & snow, and retaining moisture is just some benefits of keeping your hair wrapped.
Please read Helen Gabriel's essay "The African American Woman's Headwrap: Unwinding the Symbols"
EXCERP:
The African American headwrap holds a distinctive position in the history of American dress both for its longevity and for its potent signification's. It endured the travail of slavery and never passed out of fashion. The headwrap represents far more than a piece of fabric wound around the head.
This distinct cloth head covering has been called variously "head rag," "head-
tie," "head handkerchief," "turban," or "headwrap." I use the latter term here. The headwrap usually completely covers the hair, being held in place by tying the ends into knots close to the skull. As a form of apparel in the United States, the headwrap has been exclusive to women of African descent.
The headwrap originated in sub-Saharan Africa, and serves similar functions for both African and African American women. In style, the African American woman's headwrap exhibits the features of sub-Saharan aesthetics and worldview.
